Procedure: This activity will probably need about three classes to prepare all of the activities.

Recommended Sequence
:
Class 1 Read the book together, taking time to talk about money and if students earn, save or spend money. Ask questions throughout the process to be sure that the student understands. Point out illustrations and captions. Do a vocabulary activity.
Class 2 Look through flyers, talk about prices, use money vocabulary in your discussion. Choose about 20 items and their prices from the flyers to cut out and glue onto index cards. These items should cost between $10-$100 and should be items of interest to the children.
Class 3 Play the game using the directions below.

Money Game Directions:
1. Setting up the game. Make sure that every player has $200 in bills and a game marker. STORE cards and BANK cards should be separated and put on the correct squares on the game board. There should be a banker and a store clerk chosen to handle money. If there are three players, one person could be the accountant and check the math with the calculator.

2. Each player rolls the number cube. Lowest number begins playing. Roll number cube and go that many spaces on the gameboard. If player lands on a square with a picture/image, he picks up a card and follows the instructions on the card.

Image 2: Bank- Pick up a Bank Card

3. Game continues along the gameboard until one player reaches the end of the board first. That player is the winner. Everyone can add up their money and see who has the largest amount of money left.
